    Is Artificial Intelligence Possible

This was an article I found that I never read. I usually save the gaming newsletters that are in my email address. I haven't read it yet but I know that there are a few on this site that do like to have a good read. It's an interesting topic. Also a factor that we do have to observe when we're playing these games. I hope someone gets something positive out of this. Enjoy.

Wow, a sore sight for eyes reading this, it's like 10 pages long. Do you mind summarizing it as well as you can?

Does this have anything to do with a real life Matrix? Now that would be awesome!

I'm sorry man but to think that life doesn't matter because we're all a part of some cosmic computer program is a little unsettling.

I don't really feel like reading it, but I would like to say that I'm taking a class in AI next year (hopefully) and if I'm in a position to make it better, you guys can be sure I'll be making it better (hopefully for a sports game so you guys get off people's back, yelling about AI glitches).

          LOL.

It's an interesting read if you got the time.

It talks about the advances in AI made and if it will ever be possible to fully replicate a humans intelligence. One of the first problem it hits is human consciousness as an "add-on"(whether it is or isn't) in human evolution and if it can even be remade with algorithms. Also has a lot about neural networks to see if that can reproduce the human brain and its function. Some of the findings in this are pretty interesting as they've found ways to have the neural networks adapt to it's environment and learn from previous experience along with some other amazing things.

I dread the day a Robot ask me if I "would like fries with that". Scares me ****less.

A robot will never compare with a human, because a robot cannot love.

cue the music. blzer is getting sentimental.

i get your point, but is they can get that robot to "learn" whos to say that it cant "learn" what loveis? similar but not the same as we learned it when we were kids. only difference is we felt it before we knew wat it was. does that make sense?

you know what now that i have been thinking about it for a few mnutes, love is a feeling therefore its not conscience, therefore the AI can learn what love is, by definition, etc but cant be in love via learning it. im lost.

                      Re: Is Artificial Intelligence Possible

My post was somewhat sarcastic, yet very truthful. I mean... there are so many different kinds of love. There is hate, as well. Instead, they show the opposite of love, which is indifference. Everything is a fact; nothing is an opinion. Everything is like reading a recipe from a cookbook and following it. Yes, there's adaptation, but just for more information to be stuck in there.

I don't know where I'm really going with this, but essentially... they will never be comparable to humans.

I hate to pull this thread off topic, but man, you nailed programming... have you ever done any coding?
