I respectfully disagree. Vol. 3 was horrible. Other than Big Pimpin', I couldn't listen to it. I felt Vol. 2 was pretty good, but stumbled a little at the end of the album. But I agree, the Black Album doesn't touch RD or the Blueprint.

No criminal minded. Wow. The production team of Scot la Rock, Seth G, and D Nice. One the greatest albums ever and not on the list. I guess 1987 is a long time ago and people forget how that album made such an impact.

Did 2 pac do anything that was ground breaking? Not really,
I couldn't help but laugh. What did Biggie do that was groundbreaking? What did Nas do that was groundbreaking? What did Jay Z do that was groundbreaking? EPMD please.

Now before all the people to whom I am not asking this question respond with flames and what not, I am not saying these artists do not deserve credit for great albums. I am not trying to start a Biggie/Pac argument or a "who's the best rapper" debate. I merely ask because if you can search for things that these artists did that was groundbreaking then SURELY you can see the influence of Pac in Hip Hop history. Surely you can. And yes, I do believe groundbreaking is directly tied to influence, or vice versa. You don't think Pac did anything that changed rap for the better?

        Did Pac do anything groundbreaking...please.

Re: IGN Top 25 Rap Albums

Once I saw Doctor Octopus...sorry...Doctor Octagon as number 25 in the all-time list I immediately started to laugh :y4: :y4:

I decided to continue just to humor myslef to see if I could get more of a laugh. And I did.

I pretty sure most of you covered the rankings as a joke BUT most of these albums that are on this list isn't even the artists(or groups) best album. They have "Stankonia" by Outkast at 23. This album was better than "Aquemini"? Or even "Southernplayalisticadillacmuzik"?

Jay-Z's "The Black Album" at 15? Better than "The Blue Print"? Or even "Reasonable Doubt"? :y4:

Queen Latifah's "Hail to the Queen" not only shouldn't even be on the top 50 list BUT her "Black Reign" album dogs this album to death.:y4:

Boogie Down Productions "Ghetto Music: The Blueprint of Hip Hop" would even make BPD's top 3 in best albums that BDP made.

This list is just pure crap. They can't even review sports video games fairly if it doesn't have the EA Sports logo on it. And even if it does have the EA Sports logo the game would probably get no less than a 9 even if it used Atari 2600 graphics.

IGN can't get the game reviews straight so please stay out of the ranking of hip hop albums. It's a total joke.

I know it got honerable mention, but how does Souls of Mischief - '93 Til Infinity not make the top 25?

I cannot believe they dont have MATW or even Seven day theory on there. Which was like a hip hop bible to me.

              Stankonia better than Southernplayalisticadillacmuzik? please

Black album better than The Blueprint and Reasonable Doubt once again please. The blueprint is one of the best albums of this decade.

Wow Gang Starr number one? hey man, I'm a HUGE Gang Starr fan(mainly a DJ Premier fan) but step in the arena is not the best rap album of all time. I like their list as a collective unit though just don't agree with the sequence their in.

Illmatic and It was written are in my top 5 list...

Naw Pac was overrated. I never saw anything with his music..
