Most phones should be compatible with either USB or bluetooth, unless its fairly old. For instance the RAZR goes from minijack to USB (I use the cord that I got for my PSP, when I dont use bluetooth wireless.)

I don't know how to enable the Bluetooth on my laptop....so I havent used my Bluetooth.

As for ringers, I use Audacity to split the EXACT part of the song I want, then I upload the new file to www.phoneuploader.com and they send you a text with the file. For my A900 where I can't just use the regular USB cable to upload MP3s as ringers, this is the only way I can do it.
