I think he is horrible. I don't know how he keeps getting roles.

He's actually a good actor, he just chooses sometimes dumb pictures.

Not to disagree with you, but I think it's safe to say that Nicholas Cage is just a name now and nothing more.

He gets roles because he's Nicholas Cage. People watch him because he's Nicholas Cage.

How he acts, what roles he plays, or what scripts he takes are not part of the equation anymore for him or studios. It's all about having his name on the poster board.

It's like Tom Cruise. I'm beginning to get worried that Samuel L. Jackson is riding right behind them. In fact, someone would have to provide a great argument to have me not include his name.
"It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it -- and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence." - David Foster Wallace

Don't mess with the Amish. ;-)"

but you did laugh right? About a 3rd of the way through, I started treating it as a comedy and I ended up loving it.. for the comedy only. Not the actually movie.

Yeah it was funny. I watched the commentary afterwards to see what they were thinking when they made those scenes and even the director and the actors laughed at the stupid stuff that was going on.

Samuel L. Jackson invented that role. Samuel L. Jackson has only played one role in his entire career - Samuel L. Jackson. Hell, even when he was Mace Windu, it was simply a variation on Jules which is a variation of - Samuel L. Jackson.
Overall satisfaction also makes the decline!!!!!!!!!!!!

But its Samuel L. Jackson. Nick Cage is nowhere near as likable as Mr. Jackson.
