Recording DVDs w/DVR?
Does anyone else have a DVR box from TimeWarner? If so, can you record shows onto a dvd recorder? When im recording something my DVR box gives me the option of recording onto a VCR. I was wondering if anyone uses this feature with DVD recorder? thanksTags: None -
Re: Recording DVDs w/DVR?
I was hoping to bring this thread back to the front to see if anyone has any ideas?
I am contemplating purchasing a DVD Recorder mostly to convert some VHS recordings (wedding, HS / college sports footage my parents shot of me, etc.) and my digital video camera tapes of my kids to DVD. I assume that these two things are possible since the unit I'm looking is combo'd with a VCR deck and it has a DV input.
My next question is just like the poster above. I have searched through other forums on digital technology sites that are over 2 years old and the threads have since died out without truly answering the question.
It seems there must be a way to transfer recorded programming from a DVR unit (whether it be TiVo or like mine, a Time Warner unit) to a DVD Recorder.
It seems that it would be a great benefit to DVR owners and ultimately allow one to have an "bottomless" hard drive on the DVR, hopefully not at the expense of a substantial loss in quality once it is burned to DVD. I don't see this as being illegal or improper as it seems similar to recording shows directly from TV to VHS which has been done for over 30 years now.
Has anyone had any success with this?Congratulations BUTLER BULL DOGS!

It will work fine. You will just be using your dvd recorder instead of your vcr.My Fan Page http://theusualgamer.net/MyFanPage_Heelfan71.aspx

Yes, it will work. You just have to hook up the DVDR directly to the DVR box and it will work just like a VCR.Comment

Terrific. I assume the connections that need to be made are very straightforward.
