Last.fm and iPod

Maybe it's just me, but I've always kind of thought it would be really cool if these two could actually work together.

Last.fm is great for when you're at home at your computer, but what about when you're away from it? I would love for the future iPods to be able to track what you listen to on your iPod when you're on the go.

I think it'd be a sweet little touch, and would give an even truer indication of what you listen to, and how often you listen to it.

I wonder if Apple would ever consider buying last.fm (if it is even possible for it to be for sale), and make even more upgrades to it, and have last.fm update in real-time, instead of having to wait a week for your totals to update. The only problem with this would be for those who use Windows Media Player with last.fm

Anyone agree that it would be sweet to have this?

Not too familiar with Last.fm... but it doesn't seem like it would be a better audible experience throughout the day than winamp+shoutcast...

I thought I read somewhere on last.fm that there is a way to add your iPod plays to your last stats, but I could never find any solid info on how to do it.

I prefer and use WinAmp, but I could see the interest in Apple developing some kind of record keeping website like last.fm that would work with iPod plays.

While last.fm is a pretty popular site, it is still pretty small in terms of how they run things, it would be intersting to see how they would react with buyout offers from some big companies.

I'm pretty sure you can upload your listens from your iPod to last.fm, but since I don't have an iPod, I've never looked into it myself. Ask around on the HQ forums and somebody should be able to help.

Now that CM said something, I've been reading on how to do it.

It's quite confusing, but it seems like it's possible.

I think that would be a cool idea, hopefully you can do it.
