Re: Students use IM-speak in essays
This is absurd. I'll only go as far as lol and brb on messaging, but is the generation behind me really stupid enough to put that stuff in essays?Comment

Re: Students use IM-speak in essays
Using terms like "dat" in school essays just screams to people, "I is unintelligent." How damn lazy can you be, and the scary part of it is that I almost guarantee you theres a lawsuit coming soon that will allow students to write like that. Knowing how ****ed up our legal system is, and how parents these days are 90% ignorant idiots, its just a matter of time before that kind of crap is allowed in school papers.Comment

Re: Students use IM-speak in essays
I just keep mine seperate.
Text messaging I'll use shortened versions of things just due to I hate typing them all out being as it takes forever, could just be that I'm not fast at it though.
Instant messaging, its easy to type so I'll type out full words, I'll use like lol, brb, wtf, lmao, but I type out pretty much anything else.
Papers I type with no shortened words or any of that stuff, honestly not that hard to keep them seperated, so I just type whatever way the situation calls for.Favorite Teams:
