Wireless Internet Question...

Hey guys.....in order to access the wireless internet @ my community college, they're asking me to mess around with the proxy settings and stuff. Will changing those settings (i.e. adding a proxy address, etc) have any effect on my wireless internet usage @ home or for other connections I'm using?

Yes, they will as fishpa says. You'll be stuck doing what I do, when I use my laptop at work I use the proxy, when I come home at night and want to use the laptop I have to remove the proxy. It's kind of a pain but not a huge deal.

So basically, all I have to do is make note of whatever changes I make then when I get home, just change them back? Hmm. This wouldn't be such a problem if I didn't have an hour and a half break between classes on a couple of days. I guess that's what I'll have to do, thanks!

Yes or you can setup IE with the proxy and then get Firefox browser and don't set it up with a proxy, then use whichever browser depending upon whether you're at school or at home.
