Yeah, I just remembered his diss to NSync, Brittney Spears, ICP, Ricky Martin, Will Smith, and every other boy band group on "I'm Just Marshall Mathers." That's a hot track.

"New Kids on the Block suc* a lot of dic*, boy girl groups make me sick. I can't wait to catch all you ******* out in public, I'ma a love it."

I'd put Ether over Hit 'Em Up any day. Mainly because of the Outlawz ruining half the track and Pac's nonsensical rambling at the end.

As far as stuff that hasn't been mentioned yet, I thought Canbius's 'Second Round Knockout', and LL's response 'The Ripper Strikes back' were both hot. The "99% of his fans wear high heels" and "99% of his fan's don't exist" lines were classic.

I agree, I always thought Hit 'Em Up was overrated as hell because Pac was on a quarter of it.

I agree, but I do include Hit Em' Up pt. 2, I liked Pac's verse.

I think Hit em Up and Ether are overrated as hell. Combined they had about 2 actual true things. Pac had a nice first two lines, but that's about it. After that it's just "I'll kill you. I'm a gangsta. Seriously, please believe me. No, really, I am a gangsta." Ether was just "Jay Z is gay". Lyrically, "Drop a Gem on Em" and "Takeover" murder Nas and Pac, but Pac was dead when the first officially dropped and Jay Z cried, so he lost. Ditto "Dre Day" and "Real MF Gs". Lyrically, Eazy, BGKO, and Dresta killed Dre and Snoop. IMO, interchangible gay jokes do not a great dis record make.

Was there that much made up about Ether? I think I have a Jay interview on my computer where he talks about how Ether hurt so much because it was true.

Most of it was gay jokes. The only things he actually said that were relatively hurtful would be Jay biting Big and Jay being a Nas stan. The other things were his name:

                          1. Jay's name. Yeah, aside from Nas, Lil Kim, and Pac, how many rappers use their real name?

                          2. KRS already made an album called blueprint. Uh oh.

                          3. Jay's ugly. That's true.

In the beef, Nas one because Jay cried, but lyrically, Jay won, and I don't even like Jay.

I like Takeover.. but how can you say Jay won lyrically over Nas? Overall the song was nice, but lyrically.. to me I wasn't like 'daaaamn' he killed Nas. If someone were to say Ether >>>> Takeover I would have to disagree as well. Both were nice tracks.. but Ether to me just overall was 'better'.

I also love the Eazy-E diss to Dre.. completely forgot about that track.

I guess lyrically might not be the right term.

                                1. It was Jay Z at his popularity peak dissing Nas who looked empty. Where was Nas in 2000? He revived his career, but Nas has always been the guy who dropped Illmatic. In the public's mind, e fell off pretty hard.

                                2. Nas wasn't a gangsta, yet that's what most of Illmatic was

                                3. Jay did have a much better career despite being in rap half as long as Nas

                                4. Jay beat on Nas' baby mama

Nas' best points were that Jay is ugly and bit off BIG.
