    Help with TV purchase.

I am close to purchasing a new TV. I currently have a PS3, but I am unsure of what TV to buy. I have narrowed it down to three sets.

Set 1: Sony 50" LCD SXRD that runs 1080P.
Set 2: Sony 55" LCD Vega that runs 1080I.
Set 3: Samsung 51" DLP that also runs 1080P.

The prices are vey close the Sony's are a little more expensive, but not by much. What I am most curious about is the P and I. P is progressive and I is interlace, but is there rally that much difference between the 2. I would also like to know what kind of cables I need for either set. Do I buy HDMI cables regardless or is that just for one type of set. Please help I am getting anxious and I would really like some outside assistance.

Im pretty sure nothing really runs in 1080p yet, and wont be for a while. so Id go with the 1080i. Its probably cheaper too.

ask in the HDTV thread at the top of the E&T thread, you'll get a lot more help in there.

no cable channels run in 1080p, but yours PS3s, Xbox 360s, HDDVD and Blu-Ray can all output to 1080p

I am more concerned with the PS3 and Blu Ray HD channels areso scarce right now. I will ask a few more questions in the HD thread. Thanks for the info. It sounds like every one ele is having trouble deciding as well. Thanks for the help fellas.

Please use the HDTV sticky at the top next time.

            Thanks!
