If you listen for the first half hour or so, then turn back an hour later, you won't miss much; he tends to stay on the same topic.

Dan Patrick's show blows chunks... I remember a few years ago he tried to set up Isiah Thomas to say something controversial, I can't remember what the topic was... The only time I've found his show entertaining was when he would have Reggie Miller and Mark Jackson on, and just let them riff on different topics... I found myself wishing that ESPN would have the balls to can Patrick's show and replace him with Miller and Jackson.
Great point about Miller and Jackson. I always though i would be good radio if Reggie were to co-host.

Everything is an "issue" with Patrick. Dan....they're not issues....they're topics at best. And he always has to play the antagonist, asking a "probing" question or making a "journalistic" point. Stop already.

And, I agree about Cowherd. "Raiderguy" "9erguy" "blah-blah guy".

Dan is stooping to a new low now... Having Tommy Morrison on equates to "shock" radio, IMO... I'm listening now because I can't get Sporting News Radio here at work for some reason.

LOL, Mike Murphy is terrible. It's like listening to bad 50's radio.

I agree. I used to listen to his show sometimes when it was on the air here (not any longer in Detroit I don't think) and losing Dibs hurt. Dan was a little too slick and high brow at times for my liking. Dibs certainly balanced it out.

How was that Morrison interview. I was on lunch and heard him in the opening segment of his show touting this interview as up there with the Tonya Harding inerview. Was there anything especially weird about it?

I know in the beginning of the interview, Morrison said he talks to God everyday, but was there anything else to it?

I don't think Patrick would go for that... He likes the sound of his own voice.

I really didn't take anything from it. It sounded more like he was trying to goad Tommy into saying something really outlandish... He was asking him about steroids and stuff, and Morrison was giving him basic answers... He told Patrick that he didn't use them for boxing training, he just used them while lifting weights. I didn't see anything so "out there" about that statement, then Dan tried to clown him afterwards (after the replay) by saying, "Well, I didn't think he would take them during the sixth round"...

Just seemed like he was reaching for something sensational, IMO.

I haven't listened to Patrick's show but he does seem to get some of the best guests available. Overall tho, ESPN has some of the worst sports programming i've heard. Now Sporting News Radio is a gem of a network and I love listening to that when I can.

Only reason he gets the guests is the ESPN brand... I agree with you, Sporting News is far superior when it comes to content... The only part of ESPN's radio lineup I like is the Game Night crew.

Dude! Washington sucks big time! All I listen to is Rome 11am to 2 pm here in Austin...and the local hack from 2 till around 230 when I get sick of hearing about UT soccer and swimming!

I love the score, but Mike Murphy just doesnt bring anything to the table for me. DP show is ok, but I hate it when he brings on that idiot Keith Oberman.
