Tuesday is going to be a nuthouse. I went last year just to see how everything was and it was packed. I'd go Monday and try and do as much as you can in regards to talking with them and such because Tuesday its mostly walking up to them, them giving you a packet of stuff, and then sending you on your way. Monday is a lot more personable.
I am going to both. Monday isn't formal right? But Tuesday is? Where are they both located?

As for the internship, I actually have broadened my views and I might be applying at a city near you! I plan on applying with the Washington Wizards, Philadelphia Eagles, Chicago Blackhawks, Oakland A's, Indiana Pacers, DC United, LA Kings, Boston Bruins, Boston Celtics, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Tennesse Titans, etc.

I would prefer to work with the Mariners, Seahawks, or Sonics, but who knows.

Yeah, it might seem like that sometime but how often do you really know how qualified other candidates for a job are? How well their interview went, etc.

I was referring more to familial connections, not references. I got so sick of hearing when school resumed "oh, so you worked for your dad's company" and all that BS. I think of "equal opportunity" and hope that it means equal for more than just race and gender...why should some dip**** frat boy get the job at his family's company without fair competition? How is that proper business etiquette?

I guess if you are born into the lucky sperm club more power to you, but being on the outside clawing for a chance is something you just have to experience and getting the short end of the stick (or seeing what it does to people) is a major blight on the business and graduate level communities, IMO.

you might want to start out lower or more local to you, since it's more realistic. I know lots of pro teams help out their in state colleges before they even consider others for internships. There's tons of minor league teams that hire people from college quick too.

          but good luck.

That is an excellent point. Minor League Baseball, more and more, seems to be the gateway to bigger and better things in the PR department.

I'm interning with the Birmingham Barons, the AA affiliate of the Chicago White Sox, for the 2nd summer in a row. I got that position b/c I knew someone from a previous internship, that I got by knowing someone and so on...
