Eh, never really been my cup of tea. I mean, I'll listen to him, I've definitely got no problem with his music, it's just never sucked me in and grabbed my attention and made me want to listen to it. I probably should give him a opportunity though... Someone throw out an essential album.

I've seen him a few times and own most of his CDs. Love his accoustic stuff, but his electric sound grates a little, especially live where it's mostly noise and tends to drown out his voice. As he's gotten increasingly political and tried harder to adopt a "pop" and "funky" sound, I've grown out of touch with his music. But his older stuff is pretty great.

His "Live From Mars" album is excellent. As are his studio albums "Fight For Your Mind" and "Diamonds on the Inside." I'm not a big fan of his latest studio album. Live From Mars was my introduction to him, and it was great for me, I would recommend that to anybody wanting to get into his music.
