Re: Hip Hop Heads: Top 10 Alive

To the person who asked if Saigon needs an album to be considered a top emcee, I don't think so. I've been listening for Saigon for years and he's been one of my favorites since my first listen. Warning Shots, Yardfather I & II, Return of the Yardfather, Abandonded Tracks, & the Abandoned Nation album have more than enough material to certify his skill. Saigon is a beast.

I agree about Papoose though. He has talent, but he is very repetitive. I can't deal with him much.

Great list though I haven't heard enough of Cormega or AZ's own stuff. I'd probably at least give Snoop Dogg and members of Wu an honorable mention.

Even with all of the differing tastes.. Common seems like he should be on everyone's list.

Are we talking in their prime or right now? I mean, KRS1 and Rakim are still alive but they aren't what they used to be. Same with Nas, Raekwon, and the GZA. Biggie's dead, so I don't know why all ya'll list Jay.

Right now, the only rappers I really have heard new stuff that's good is Ghostface and Trife, Common, Nas, Budden, and Chamillionaire. If Game gets a good ghost writer, he could be there. Keep in mind, I don't have any internet at home and no audio here, so I don't get any internet stuff.
