Re: highschool girl dunk
If you're 6'5", your arm will probably be ~3 feet (or more)... that puts you at 9 feet before even jumping. And i'm assuming she's played basketball for most of her life... if she can't get 12" off the ground, that's just horrible... girl or not. Plus, she looks very athletic, not some giant, fat girl.Comment

Re: highschool girl dunk
That rim is somewhere between 8'6" and 9' even. Not a chance that it's at 10. I'd bet a mortgage payment. You can tell by (a) the way she is jumping (b) how much she is clearing it by and (c) the rim in proportion to the to her when she is under it on the ground.

Re: highschool girl dunk
I really doubt that much thought went into creating some kind of conspiracy where people don't know how high the rim is.Originally posted by BlzerLet me assure you that I am a huge proponent of size, and it greatly matters. Don't ever let anyone tell you otherwise.
If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)Comment

Re: highschool girl dunk
Sure dude, chalk it up to coincidence then. At the very least the first wide angle shot would of showed the entire body of the girl. Have you ever used a video camera? Whoever was operating that camera knew what he was doing. Pan out for the launch, and pan in perfectly for the actual dunk.Last edited by andayaman; 02-26-2007, 11:45 AM.Comment

Re: highschool girl dunk
I am finding it hard to believe this a girl. Seriously, where are the breasts? Not even knobs there. That Adam's apple looks suspect as well...PS: You guys are great.

Re: highschool girl dunk
Still don't buy it. "Dunked in a game" by women's basketball standards are not the same as what this girl was doing in the video. If she could dunk on a 10 foot rim like she does in the video, she'd have 2 or 3 dunks per game.
No chance, no way, no how that's a 10 foot rim.
The only one that I'd question is the one where she threw it off the backboard to herself, but after she dunks it she stands up straight and you can tell there's definitely more than 2.5 feet (which would make the hoop 9-ft) between her head and the rim - which you can't even see at the top of the screen.
The thing that's weird about that article is that it says her wing span is only 70", which is normal for a girl who's 5'10" or so. Must be a misprint, probably suppose to be 80"."You make your name in the regular season, and your fame in the postseason." - Clyde Frazier
