Well, if you needed any more proof that this has become nothing other than a Democratic National Convention, consider the following:

- Happy Feet beat Cars? Are you kidding me. Cars is one of the best animated movies ever made. It was hilarious with a great story and quick pace. Happy Feet was completely disjointed with a strange storyline and very few laughs. But Happy Feet had an environmental message!! So there you go, give it an Oscar.

- Al Gore accepted the award for the bogus An Inconvenient Truth. AL GORE DID NOT WIN THE OSCAR! He didn't produce it, he didn't direct it, he didn't write it, he didn't edit it. He merely narrated it. Narrators don't accept awards for best documentary; directors and producers do. But let's not miss out on a chance to promote our political agenda.

Last night was basically the Al Gore Liberal Circle-Jerk awards.

Welcome to why I don't watch the Oscars. It's strange - I really, really like movies, but I really, really hate the Hollyweird culture for how out of touch they are with the rest of the world and how obsessed with fellating each other's egos they are. Watching the Oscars is kind of like watching one of those really bad commentary tracks where the participants do nothing but talk about how great each other are for the entire running time of the movie, but with politics mixed in. No thanks.

I think I stopped watching the year they gave Roman Polanski a standing ovation while he was in another country, unable to attend the Academy Awards because he was hiding from statutory rape charges. And yet he gets a standing O because he made a good movie. Ok....

Yeah, I had to find Age of Consent (no luck but found many screenshots and clips), Mirren had some thickness to her, big-boned as it were. As it is, she's married and as I attractive as I found her, I will not covet my neighbor's wife.

Im a sucker for almost ALL music award shows, but I cant stand the Oscar's. They just dont bring the same excitment since most of it is behind the scenes **** and people giving speech's that I have no clue who they are.
