    stock market

at about 2:00 p.m. CST the Dow plummeted about 275 points in about three minutes. On the day, its down about 500 points

is this the start of the correction that so many people were predicting?

It seems to be big news, but honestly I have no idea what I am seeing though I can pretty much tell it's not too good. Anyone mind telling me what this means?

I'd say that has a lot to do with it. Also a response to China's markets dropping so much yesterday.

Of course, I'm far from an "expert" on these things.

This is pretty bad which is ironic because just last night I was telling someone that we're headed for a stock market correction and that the economy is going on a major downturn. The person asked if I think we're going for another "Great Depression". I said no but I think it'll be similar to "Black Friday" in 1987.

You mean the "time change" bunkers. Anyone read the horrors with the new time change rules? Your bank slips might be dated an hour late...oh the horror!

This is horrible for anyone that needs to change all the code. Its programmed into everything. If you miss the cutoff for depositing money and you need it the next day, you could be in trouble.

It's a minor correction. The market has been booming as of late. It's time to come back down to earth. Of course, the doomsayers will start spouting about another depression or years of recession, but the market has to correct eventually. Ride it back up.

or maybe all the investment banks thought today would be a good day to cash in on all their market gains from the pass 4 or 5 months.
