Converting Mpeg/Avi to animated GIF?

Hey fellas, I have some MPEG/AVI movies that I want to turn into GIFs... what program do I need, and how do I do it?

I usually just use Adobe Image Ready. Right click and "Open With" Image Ready. You'll be able to choose which frames you want. After that, it's just a matter of resizing, choosing the speed and saving. For more in-depth help, try www.good-tutorials.com

I use some freeware called 123 AVI to GIF Converter...its quick and simple.

jasc animation shop works wonders for me. version 3.05 has a trial. itll run out supposedly, but it still works for ever.

WMV dont work. but MPEGs and AVIs work just fine.
