    Daughtry - Daughtry

My favorite album of 2007 by a landslide. I know it's only March, but I doubt anything tops this album.

I love every song except for "What I Wasn't" and "There And Back Again"

My 2 favorite tracks are "All These Lives" and "Home". Home is the exit song on AI this season.

The album is already double platinum and climbing. When compared to past AI contestants, he has a chance to have the success Kelly Clarkson and Carrie Underwood have enjoyed.

I know some people will pass on this record because it's from an AI singer, but they're missing out on a kick *** rock album.

I bought this album not too long ago, and it is very good. I think that this guy has a good future as a singer. I was reading that his album is the fastest selling of all the American Idol contestants/winners.

I've never watched American Idol, and I never will, but when I heard that this guy lost to Taylor Hicks, my low opinion of the show got even lower.

Do this today: Instead of $%*#!@& on a game you're not going to play or movie you're not going to watch, say something good about a piece of media you're excited about.

Do the same thing tomorrow. And the next. Now do it forever.

It's a good album, and he has great tone... but do not be fooled. He isn't a great singer. In fact, he is a horrible singer. He has all the tools to be great, he just doesn't use them correctly. His career is going to be very very short. To get added volume he pushes a lot more air through... bad idea. That is gonna blow his vocal folds(chords) really badly.

I hope he starts listening to the pros that are trying to help him sing correctly, or else he will have 4-5 albums tops.

And btw.. There and Back Again is the best song on the album, which isn't surprising considering Brent Smith wrote it with him.

I like it, it's a pretty good album, a lot better than the "rocker" Bo Bice

I think he sounds like everything else on "alternative/hard rock" radio, but what do I know.

I think Brent is one of the better songwriters around today. Guy has serious talent... And his singing is amazing. Best rock voice since Cornell.

As far as Daughtry goes.. I REALLY hope he listens to his coaches as his tone is GREAT!

My thoughts exactly. I also thought his whole album sounded the same.

I mean, he has a good sound, but it's all too common to everything else out right now.

My roommate plays the single from this "band" 73 times per day. He's one of those people who has a group of 4 or 5 favorite songs, and plays them in a rotation, non-stop for months at a time.

Due to this, I have an intense, fiery hatred for this band and that ******* song "It's Not Over". I would prefer to have a pack of rabid boars gnaw at my skin than be forced to listen to this song again.
I am unsure if my hatred for Its Not Over would be as intense if I wasn't forced to hear it so much, but I suspect it would. To me, it sounds like a whiny, "woe is me", phony, contrived song.

I agree with you folks who said this is the best album of 2007 and Daughtry is definitely the best new artist I've heard in a long time, and no doubt the best to ever come out of American Idol IMO. As for the album, I like just about all the songs except for that one with Slash which I always bypass. The songs have a great hook and just get stuck in your head. I just got the CD a week ago and probably already have listened to it about 30-40 times. Just a great CD and well worth picking up IMO.

I agree that it's a good album and he'll probably go on to be successful. There's no question that Kelly Clarkson has been successful, but is Carrie Underwood really an example of success, I know she had a couple videos and all, but to me she didn't blow up any bigger than Clay Aiken really, since personally I thought her CD was pretty bad. Personally I thought Kellie Pickler's CD was far far better than Underwoods, in fact it wouldn't surprise me if she ended up blowing up. Idol losers seem to do better than the winners after Clarkson's success.

Some Hearts has sold over 5 million. 6 Singles have been released from the album.

She's won Grammy, Billboard, CMTA People's Choice, World Music, American Music, and Academy of Country Music Awards.

She's currently one of biggest stars in music right now.

Clay Aiken's first album sold around 3 million while his newest one has only sold about 500,000.

I have Carrie and Kellie's album, and Carrie's is a 1000 times better.
