the short explanation I received is that plasma is going to show motion picture better than LCD, and live shorter...and now apply the opposite concept for lcd in comparison to plasma. It's sharper defintion for gaming and still pictures.

Do some searches in the HDTV sticky up top as well, since similar questions have been asked and answered a lot there as well.

The thing is, there is TOO much information on HDTV's, home theater, calibration, etc...it's impossible to digest it all! You'll definately be informed though.
