Comcast Telephone Service?

Has anyone tried Comcast's telephone service yet? I was thinking of switching over as it will be $10 more on my current cable bill a month. We currently pay a little too much with AT&T. I'm ready to pull the trigger, any advice or feedback would be great. Thanks

I have a buddy that has it, only thing bad about it is if your cable goes out, so does your phone. Other than that, it's great. You get all the bells/whistles and at a fraction of the price of most phone providers

My cable only goes out once every 4-5 months for a an hour or so. I might give it a shot since it would only cost an extra $10 on my cable bill. Were paying too much right now with AT&T, if I can save $50-$60 a month it's well worth it. Telephone serice in IL is just crazy with their prices.

When a called a few days ago to inquire details from Comcast, they told me that they have to give me a new modem.

I have it, but with a different cable provider so I'm sure it's very similar. No big issues so far, but the provider I have almost never has cable outages. The only issue I have had is that sometimes theres a little crackle on the line.

The reason for the new modem is that your old one probably doesn't have hookups for an RJ11 connection (phone). The new modem is a little bigger and has status lights for 2 telephone lines. This modem also has a small batter backup in it so if the power goes out, I can still use the phone for a short period of time. Of course, you'd need one of those old wired phones that doesn't need power to use it.

I have it. Great service and no big issues. I don't remember the last time my phone service went out Candyman. Comcast service is great in my area.

I've got it and love it. The only thing I don't like over Voicepulse (the company we had before Comcast) is that I could set privacy options after a certain time where the phone wouldn't ring.

i had the comcast package here for awhile, absolutely terrible service and always had issues. ended up switching over to dsl because it was driving me nuts. the service in this entire area is dreadful thought.

when it worked it was a great service thought, so my advice would be to ask around and see how their service is in your area.

i too am thinking about dumping ATT and going with Time Warner Digital Phone to consolidate my internet, cable, and phone.

The deal they had going on in Knox Vegas was Phone, Internet, and Digital Cable with 6 months of two premiums for 99 bucks a month. Check and see if that's available in your area.

We had this going over the summer, $33 for each service totaling to $99 for a year. I was so leary about the phone service that I didn't jump on it and I wish that I had. I'll ask them again when I call tomorrow.

As a current employee, just tell them you heard about the "Triple Play" and want to add the phone service. They will give you the package price just to get another customer.
