Server Issues Somewhere......

Is there some kind of big server problem on the internet today? I can go most anywhere I want to go today, but there are a few sites that normally work that I have not been able to get to today. The browser just spins its wheels and never gets there. I tried using different browsers, but no luck whatsoever.

I have not been able to get to these sites and a few more all day long......

It works for me, Tomahawk. Did you try power cycling your modem/router?

All of those came right up?

I had to cut it off and restart it this morning because I couldn't go anywhere, but most sites like here are coming straight up.......it is just a few sites like the sites at the top that will not come up. Most of them are Virginia sites so I didn't know if that might be it. I'll try restarting everything.

They came right up, buddy. Other than power cycling your modem/router, I don't really know what to tell you. I guess you could call your ISP, but they might not be in on a Saturday night.

I've had problems today too. Usually my internet moves like lightning but today its slow like molasses.

What ISP do you have Tomahawk?

DSL service through Earthlink.

It could be isolated to your ISP, your region or a series of other factors.

For what it's worth, it's working for me, too.

I carried the computer to work and let it run off the ISP there and everything comes up. I come home and still the same problems. I guess it is time to call Earthlink.

I talked to someone at Earthlink/Embarq and he said there was a fiber cut that was causing major problems throughout Tennessee, Virginia, and the Carolinas. He said they have been searching for it since 1 PM yesterday and it is effecting users of Sprint, Embarq, and MCI. He said it was one of the largest outages they have ever experienced.

I'm just glad there is nothing wrong with my stuff or my waffle ...... whatever that might be?
