uhgg, I have a PS3 and a 20 year old hotel TV,, help!!

I just got stationed at a new base, and for the next month i'm stuck in this hotel until i can move in somewhere.

Anyway, the TV in this room only has one coaxial input, nothing else. I bought a RF modulator today, thinking that I could use the AV cables and get it to work. (I use the HDMI cable on my TV). I know its a crappy way to play the PS3, but its better than nothing, and cheaper than a tuner for my laptop... Anyway, I hook everything up,,, and nothing. The RF modulator doesn't seem to be working with the PS3,,, why not?? Is there something about the PS3 signal that doesn't allow it to work? I'm not the most tech savvy person, so i appreciate any help.

anyway, i just bought college hoops 2K7 last week, and it sucks that i can't play it...

without anything connected to the ps3 other than the tv, hold the power button on the ps3 for 5 seconds to turn on the ps3 and it should somehow read the new tv the ps3 is using

no prob. just had that same exact problem when a friend brought over his ps3. took us a while to figure it out
