Im sorta surprised there isnt a thread on the movie Pride. I've heard nothing but solid reviews and its a Lionsgate film so it must be good.

I might see this movie sometime soon, since its a swim movie and I'm a swimmer.

I saw the preview before another movie I saw in the theatres, and I honestly began to laugh at loud at the end of the preview... it just looks silly... and, no, I wasn't laughing because of the racial stereotype, which I hadn't even thought of until after I laughed... but I'm sure the people in the theatre thought I was a big ***.

I was just replying to your surprise, didn't mean to upset you. I think you are the only one on these boards who was surprised noone has made a thread (until you did) about a swimming movie.

I just dont think there is alot of interest in competitive swimming. Swimmers are terrific athelets, put alot of work into it..but its swimming. I mean alot of sports just dont generate enough interest for a thread, Track and Field, Bowling, Darts, Sled Dog Racing, Dwarf Tossing....

Meh, it is just another run of the mill swimming movie that comes out every so often.

Might see it.

Im not suprised merely on the fact that its a swim movie. But more on that its a movie that has generally good reviews by the critics and no one bothered to mention it.

Really, though, what "inspirational, motivation, 'heart-wrenching,' over-dramatic" sports movie doesn't get at least a few good reviews and, in reality, is exactly like every other sports movie made out there?

At least it's not another football or basketball movie, though. Won't see it until its on DVD, at the earliest.

Although I've never watched a swim meet, so there could be running I suppose.
