    Dead Silence

Didn't see a thread for this movie.

Just got back from it. It was not horrible..but not great either.

There are some seriously freaky "scare" moments to be sure, but overall, not nearly as good as the Saw Series for Wan as a director.

On a side note this movie has everything I am scared of...so that's great for my sleep patterns...

    1. Clowns
    2. Scary looking old people
    3. Puppets/Dolls

The ending is clever, albeit not exactly feasible. But overall, not a bad flick.

First of all, God Bless your Charlotte avatar. I know I tell you that a lot, but I don't want you to think it is getting old. It's not.

Second, my wife loves horror movies and drags me to a lot of them. This was middle of the road stuff for sure. What bothers me in horror movies is this: why can't people in horror movies act like normal people? Why are they so stupid? This movie was full of people just doing incredibly stupid things that no one would do in real life. For example:

      ********************SPOILERS*******************

The main character gets a phone call from the coroner in the dead of night asking him to go to the old theater immediately, that he has evidence that will prove he's innocent. Instead of saying, "Why don't you just meet me at the police station?" or "Why do I have to go to that creepy old thater again and traverse the pond and all of the rickety scaffolding that could collapse at any moment and kill either of us?" the guy immediately agrees. And instead of saying to the cop that's shadowing him, "Hey, this guy says he has proof I am innocent, so come with me," he just takes off on his own.

And really, why the hell were people still living in that town? How many deaths were recorded there? How many families wiped out? And people didn't move away in droves? And with all of the murders (and it was a tremendous amount), the FBI never got interested or on one ever said, "Gosh, I am sensing a pattern here..."

Ugh. That stuff drives me crazy. I know it doesn't pay to think too much in movies like this, but these movies take place in Bizarro World.

Just watched it from NetFlix, absolutely terrible. I do like how they stole the movie's theme from Halloween. Seriously, if you see it, listen to the theme music playing.

Donnie Whalberg playing the exact same character he plays in Saw 2 doesn't help much either.

The ending is also very "Saw-like", just the way it's shot with the music, flashbacks, etc. Many slow motion cuts as well.
