Ugh, the loss of competition in our society is sickening.
I don't know what I would do if someone said this to me.

Do players even notice this stuff? I never did when I played. Honestly, it is parents pushing for this that need to chill out. That fun stuff is bs. Let me ask you this, how much fun have you had losing? I know that in the past 5 years we never won more than 5 games and that sucks.

How old were the you? I coached my sister's 7/8 team last year, and some of the coaches were A holes. At that age, damn near any contact with the ball can result in a homerun due to the kids inability to throw accurately and make adjustments, so usually you stop play once the ball is secured in the infield. Well, this one team would send their kids around the bases all got damn day.

Instead of banning the chatter, little league sports should ban parents.

This just reminded me of how my tee-ball league never kept score. I'd always ask if we won or not, and they'd say "I don't know." I remember getting pissed each time.

                    What a douche bag coach.

I think however I can top that from a story of my Little League, well to be fair one year after I finished LL and my best friend was still playing. The coach of one of the teams in Richmond, VT (rural Vermont town) would drive into Burlington (biggest City in VT) where he would pick up players to bring back to Richmond to play, while never allowing the kids from Richmond unless they were really good play or have an at bat.

The previous year, he had a big kid who could throw hard who was also borderline psychotic. For fun he would hit 3 consecutive batters and then try and strike the next three out. He was never objected for this, god only knows why. My team had twin brothers who had some sort of intellectual disability, well this big kid hit one of them in the wrist, breaking it. From what I remember the P also bullied these kids at school, and when the second twin came up to bat he was afraid the same thing would happen so he began crying and was too afraid to hit. The opposing coach started taunting him, yes a grown man (the word adult doesn't seem applicable) was taunting a kid who was crying out of fear. The umpire for whatever reason let it go (hard to tell who the bigger douche bag is, huh?) and called the batter out for not stepping into the box.

Well low and behold, good ole MassNole was the next batter. Now I said this kid was big, but wouldn't you know I was bigger. By 6th grade I was already 5'9 and broad (I hurt my growth plate 2 years later unfortunately), so the whole way from the on deck circle I stared this kid down and right before stepping into the box I pointed the bat at him, motioned to my right arm and slammed the bat into my hand, letting him know if I got hit, I was breaking his armed with the bat. My coach would have normally benched me for doing something like that (he was a highly religious man and was eventually my HS religion teacher), he smiled and let it go. I was walked on 4 pitches to the outside, then proceeded to walk to first again staring him down every inch of the 45' walk. Wouldn't you know I was warned by the ump for my behavior. Go figure, this kid can commit a misdemeanor by hitting everyone he wants and breaking bones, but if you dare stand up to him you get warned.

                    Ah the memories.

And for one of my taunting stories as a kid, we were playing my best friend's team and my best friend came up to bat. Needless to say I yelled no need to worry here, my coach yelled at me for it, until my best friend said it was okay from the batter's box. We all had a good laugh and the fact I remember that as well as my first homerun or the previous story over 15 years later tells me it was a good childhood memory. It is a shame they'd take that away from these kids today.

For anyone wondering about the d-bag coach, Little League of America banned him for life following the importing kids debacle.

LLers still yell stuff like "hey batter batter swing?"

I don't really see the problem with the ban, not a big deal to me. Major leaguers don't yell at the opposing team as far as I can tell.

I've got to be honest little league coaches are some crooked people. I havent exactly had two coaches banned. But I did have two coaches thrown in jail. One for his participation with this little mary ring and the other who was a cop, who decided it would be alright to run a gamecock fighting ring.

Around here though, coaches from opposing places were always finding kids for their all-star teams. Example N. Charleston had a kid from BC pitching on their team, in case you need some help figuring out how far that is look at a map of south carolina. BC is around Columbia and N. Charleston is well near the coast. Needless to say I never made it past 3 games in an allstars tournament...we sucked.

Edit: had to say gamecock because it wouldnt let me say ****

That's different. T-ball is 4-5 year olds learning the game. Practically any contact with the ball gets you on base, and every kid gets to bat.

At 11 years old, you are in Little League (like what you see on TV). When you are 8 or above, its time to learn that in competition there are winners and losers, and a lot of these kids need to learn how to lose with sportsmanship. That can't happen if you don't keep score.
