Wireless Network - Will this work ??

I ordered a wireless router tonight (see link below)

After making this purchase, I've become concerned as to if it will be compatible with XBox Live. I've looked on XBox's website and this particular router does not show up on either the compatible or non-compatible list of routers that they have published. This may be because this is a newer router that has not been tested yet.

At first I plan on having my 360 hard wired directly to the router and using the wireless connectivity for my laptop.

I have two questions:

1) Does anyone know if this router will work on XBox Live?? I've read the specification page and my gut feel is that it will, but I'm nowhere close to being a Techie

2) For anyone using their 360 on a wireless network. Are you happy with it's performance?? Is it stable (i.e. connection drops, lag, etc....) How does it compare to a 360 that is hard wired directly to a modem/router ???

Do you have a Wireless Gaming Adapter? because without 1 you won't be able to access live

I don't have one yet, but should'nt I still be able to hard wire my 360 to the new router at first??? It has 4 ports I believe for that purpose plus a gigaport (whatever that is). From what I recall the gigaport gives a boost to performance.

Eventually I will go wireless on my 360 but I want to make sure that it performs well on wireless. I need input from people on OS about their personal experiences.

One thing of note is that the router I currently have on order is rated at 300MBps which I believe is one of the better speeds out there (again, not sure about that). I just don't know if Xbox Live will work with it.....maybe someone here has some insight ???

You can run it Hard Wired. I assume you have a modem which will be connected to your router. Correct

Yes I have a modem. In fact, I currently have another Netgear router (not wireless) that works just fine but with 3 computers and my 360 running through the router, all the wires are driving me nuts !!!! I think the time to go wireless is now. I'm just not ready to go 100% wireless quite yet. Money constraints I guess to buy the wireless adapters for my two desktops. My laptop is already WIFI compliant. The router that I ordered came at the recommendation of Dell for compatibility with my laptop hardware. The unknown at this point is whether or not XBox Live will like it, LOL !!!
