I haven't seen the results so I can watch the rest of the episodes without knowing the outcome.

Any word on the 3rd season of the contender yet?

There was a rumor the Contender was going to be picked up by HBO, but that was put down. The latest word I heard was there was definitely another season coming, they just can't decide on what class to use. Various reasons are forcing the producers to look at heavier classes. There is a ton of unknown talent at cruiser, so it will be interesting to see what they end up doing.

I would love to see them go to the Cruiserweight class...provided they have some real good action. I would also like to see them show the fights more. Kinda like what they are doing with the US vs UK challenge. I think that taking the fights to 6 rounds would also give the viewer better results. But as long as it is comming back that is all I really care about. Thanks for the info.

No problem. I think they have realized that they are going to have to go bigger because the general public (ie ratings) want bigger fighters. And with that, the lack of knockouts (and even knockdowns) are also hurting the series. In addition, most of the fighters are not in their natural class and this leads to mismatches in some of the fights, yet they still don't end in knockout.

As long as the producers are not grossly ignorant about boxing and try again to keep it Euro free, I really hope they give it a go at a much heavier class. If they include Euro's, an awesome and talented bunch of cruiserweights would be ridiculously easy to assemble. If it were me, I would do a US vs the world (like what they are doing with the UK) but have that as the series. Say 8 v 8.

And I agree with you, they need to start showing the entire fights.
