    But it's also an iPod.
Verizon doesn't have unlimited text plans nor unlimited data (they just revised their data plans to remove the "unlimited" part). Only unlimited plans for text'ing in their network. I have Verizon (heavily discounted) and they truly do suck amongst other things.

I'm planning on switching to Cingular just to get the iPhone since I believe Apple will get everything done right on a phone that I have gripes about with current ones.

I'm on Cingular with 8525 and unlimited data for 19.99. I did like the iphone at first but now im on the not sure it's worth it list. Right now testers are saying that the battery life is bad and i'm not for carrying a charger around or a usb cable. It also doesnt have a sliding keyboard or i dont know how typing emails or texting will look/feel like. The Meizu M8 iphone clone is looking good though. That's a wait and see though on final specs.

they burned me bad that month, so i just don't use it to text or go online anymore. I'm sure getting money out of me over a longer period of time would have been better for them.

Hope they enjoy the $245 though.

With most apple products the first generation is typically filled with a few minor kinks. The second gen comes with a price drop and fixed kinks. I think I will wait until then, see what happens.

I think the iPhone initial price is what is scaring everyone away. But at the end of the day, this is the next evolution of phones. It took Apple to shake up the cell phone market.
Apple didn't shake up anything, there are already phones that can play music and show video, all they did was put a different coat of paint on it. You don't have to have the ipod name in the phone to be able to play music you know.
