    Harlem Nights

I just thought about it and that is one of the funniest movies I've ever seen. I mean, that cast is just insane. Eddie Murphy, Red Foxx, Richard Pryor, Robin Harris, Della Reese. I can't imagine how much it would cost to assemble that kind of talent these days.

Anyone else think this movie was hilarious?

That flick is amazing, definitely an underrated comedy. The first time I saw it it was on WTXX or some thing at 1am during the week and I hadn't heard of it before then. I watched it and laughed my arse off - and that was the edited version.

It's not quite Coming to America, but it's definitely good for some laughs.

I'm glad you mentioned that. Blockbuster's got this thing where you get 3 previously viewed movies for 10 bucks. I bought National Treasure, Napoleon Dynamite and Glory. There were others that I wanted but I couldn't think of them and you mentioning that reminded me that Coming to America is one of them.

Great movie from beggining to end. You forgot to mention Arsenio Hall who was Eddies right hand back in those days.

Yeah, I did forget Arsenio Hall. It even had Charlie Murphy back when he wasn't Charlie Murphy but "Eddie Murphy's Brother".

Don't forget the late great Robin Harris was in it too... Not a big role, but he was in it.

Yeah, it was one of my favorite movies growing up. Robin Givens was looking so good.

I love Harlem Nights. Classic comedy. I can't forget the movie that introduced the lovely Lela Rochon as Sunshine. Having a legally blind man (Redd Foxx) host the dice table in a casino is one of the funniest scenes ever. And there are so many other funny moments in this movie too.

Lol, I feel like an idiot. I always get Harlem Nights mixed up with A Rage in Harlem. I will not even edit it to disguise my blunder. Harlem Nights was funny too though, and in agreement with Kruza, Lela Rochon was definitely fine.

IIRC this was a great movie tho a bit on the nasty side with all the swearing. I hadn't seen the movie since it first came to video. I happened to walk in the room when my father was watching it LOL

I think I may need to look for it and watch it again with adult eyes tho it did mark the deteriotion (sp) of Richard Pryor physically
