Forgot all about Tesla. I saw them a few years ago and the first song they played was "War pigs" by Black Sabbath! class act.

I haven't had a chance to hear Michael's solo stuff..is it Stryper like?
I mean heavy or is it more mellow. I always thought he had a great voice, especially with the Ballads.
I remember my friends (girls) liked them alot...so I made sure to have Stryper in the old tape deck at all times.Put on one of their ballads like "first love" or "Honestly"...and whewwww it was on like Donkey kong
Yeah it is mellow, it is still good. Wow I forgot about Tesla, man I saw them in the 80's as a teen. I love the "Love Song" Yeah that is a good dual of Guitars.

As a music lover, having 2 guitarists in a band really is candy to my ears. But as a bassist, I would rather play with 1 guitarist rather than 2. I don't want a rhythm guitarist drowning out my funkily wicked basslines.

A combo of Mustaine/Poland, Mustaine/Friedman, even Mustaine/Pitrelli, etc. should definitely be up there. Rust in Peace is the last mainstream metal classic to feature brilliant solo trade-offs, IMO.

Herman Li and Sam Toteman from Dragonforce are excellent players, but they haven't delivered a classic album yet IMO. Of the "newer" duos, I'd say Matthew Bachand and Jonathan Donais from Shadows Fall deserve a nod. Their work on just Of One Blood and The Art of Balance puts them up there.

Some bands have lead/rhythm guitar tandems or twin-leads, but have great records based less on their performance and more on the songwriting. Mastodon, Anthrax, and Lamb of God immediately come to mind.

          Hetfield/Hammett is a classic duo.

And of course, gotta represent my namesake:

Not always in key or utilizing sound theory, but always kick-***. Jeff Hanneman and Kerry King, Slayer.

Paul Gilbert did some work with another guitarist, his name escapes me. Do you recall?
Being kind, one to another, never disappoints.
