    Disturbia

Just got back from this movie.

Probably the "surprise" movie of the year for me.

I didn't expect much when I went to see it. It was a pretty damn good flick.

Definitely give it two thumbs up. The main actors in it are pretty good...funny guys.

Everytime I see Shia LaBeouf I always think of that show he had on the Disney Channel, or his part in I, Robot.

With that said, I'll still see the movie. He is a very promising actor.

Saw it last night. I really enjoyed it, a very good teen thriller. Shai LeBouf did a great job. Although my favorite character was his buddy, Ronald. Pretty funny guy. Also, I don't know who it was, but whoever played Ashley was looking pretty good.

I thought with all the over-advertising that this movie would be terrible. The Newspaper on campus gave it a B+... I was very surprised. This might be rent-worthy for me... I'm not a big enough fan of the mystery movie or whatever it is.

It was a really good movie surprisingly. Girlfriend and I went to see it, and I really really liked it. Quite possibly one of the best horror/suspense flicks I have seen in recent times.

Maybe it's because I can relate to almost all of the characters.

Yeah, I think it's the characters that make this movie. I was LMAO when he was playing GRAW online. Reminded me of my long nights playing that damn game.

Didnt care for it. The asian friend was annoying. The girl while hot was a ****ty actress. The boom mic got more screentime than the stars of the movie. And it just wasnt that thrilling.

Hopefully Shia can make it up to me with Transformers. He was one of the few brightspots in this stinker.

Wow, that's Shia LaBeouf? I haven't seen that guy SINCE that show on the Disney Channel. I watched I, Robot but didn't really notice the kid. Geez!

                          Re: Disturbia

The best thriller movie I’ve seen this year.

Sure Disturbia can be viewed as an updated version of Rear Window but the film delivers with likable characters, a strong villain, and some intense moments.

The budding romance between Kale and Ashley may turn some viewers off but I actually liked it. Shia LaBeouf delivered a strong performance as the main star and David Morse’s Mr. Turner kind of reminded me of Tim Robbin’s performance in Arlington Road. Ill cut Sarah Roemer some slack because she’s a new actress.

The first 30 minutes barely even touched on the “killer” next door but I felt like it was a good move to spend the time developing Kale, Ashley, and Ronnie’s character. Because of this, when their safety was in jeopardy, I actually cared about them.

I took a look at the credits and noticed Carl Ellsworth helped write the screenplay. He wrote another thriller, Red Eye, which I really enjoyed.

There was shameless plugging for IPod/Tunes and Xbox 360/GRAW in this film.

For the Canadians reading this, former Muchmusic VJ Amanda Walsh has a cameo.

I highly recommend this film because it’s very entertaining although it’s not very original.

                          B+

                            Odd.

Just finished watching the film and I'd, actually, agree with everything AF said.

Just a fantastic overall movie, really. Shia is going to be one of the best actors of our generation. And yes, I'm serious.

                              Re: Disturbia

Good movie. One of those "more original at the beginning, less at the end" movies, but for just watching it on my laptop, I had a few heart-racing moments. I don't think that it will grant a DVD purchase, but if it ever falls into a $7.99 shelf, there's no reason why I won't pick it up (after all, my Subway sandwiches cost $2 more).

I really liked Shia; I guess when you're a fan of Even Stevens it just comes naturally so. It's good to see that the kid can actually act. I think the Asian guy was also in The Perfect Score, and he was just as annoying there as he was here.

As for the villain, I would have really hoped for a better actor (not saying he was a bad actor, but I don't really think he fit the role), but I think the car scene really saved his role for me.

Anyway, give it a look if you were ever interested!
