Just got done watching it. I wanted to see this movie when it was in theatres but never got around to it. I thought it was a great movie, Shai was great and the actress who played Ashley was gorgeous.

Re: Disturbia
Good movie. One of those "more original at the beginning, less at the end" movies, but for just watching it on my laptop, I had a few heart-racing moments. I don't think that it will grant a DVD purchase, but if it ever falls into a $7.99 shelf, there's no reason why I won't pick it up (after all, my Subway sandwiches cost $2 more).
Saw this movie last night with the girl, to my surprise I thought it was pretty good. A little too much boy meets girl story but it was aight, it wasn't over blown.Comment

Re: Disturbia
BTW I picked this up for $19.99. No worries.
One cool thing with the DVD is one of the subtitle features (the last one, I believe). There are little pop-ups every fifteen seconds or so throughout the movie with facts either about the movie (relating to the scene), the actor(s), or statistics in one way or another. It's hard to explain, but if you have the DVD, you'll see what I mean.Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

Re: Disturbia
Yeah, pretty much like that.
Like, for example, there's a scene when Shia wakes up in the morning, and a thing pops up on the bottom saying: "Shia was actually asleep before this scene. Director DJ Caruso woke him by hitting two boards together." I don't remember it verbatim, but it was something like that. Then, later in the scene he goes downstairs to see his creepy neighbor for the first time, and it says, "David Morse, who stands at 6'4", adds eeriness to his character by his height." Again, I don't remember exactly, but small things like that. Then they even talk about the first ever Peeping Tom, they even do counters on how many times his house arrest anklet goes off and how many skulls are seen in the movie, and some trivia here and there.Last edited by Blzer; 01-12-2008, 05:49 PM.Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

Re: Disturbia
I've worked on sets as a boom mic and man, that dude is probably done in Hollywood. It's really a simple rule, ha. Don't get the mic in the shot.
Anyway, I saw this movie about a month ago and really liked it. Shia is perhaps my favorite young actor. Always liked him in Even Stevens and really liked him in "The Greatest Game Ever Played." Very good Disney film if you like sports and competition (it's about golf but it's good).
I would recommend this movie to anybody. Great mix of thrills and laughter. They played the suspense card nearly perfectly."It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it -- and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence." - David Foster Wallace

This should make SPTO happy. Spielburg and Dreamworks getting sued due to similarities to Rear Window.

Re: Disturbia
I thought it was a fine movie. Not great, but I wasn't disappointed by anything. Oh wait, yeah, one thing. I was annoyed by the fact that everytime he was spying at night, he always did it in a room with a light on. WTF? Everyone knows you have to turn the lights out when your spying. Not only can you see better, THEY CAN'T SEE YOU!!!Comment
