    Kidnapped on DVD (NBC)

I just came across this DVD release but hadn't even realized it was on tv. NBC televised only 5 episodes but the remaining 8 have been included on DVD. Has anybody watched this show and if so was it any good? It sounds pretty cool. Here's the basic plot I found from this site.

Jeremy Sisto stars as Knapp -- just Knapp -- a private kidnapping-and-retrieval specialist hired by a very wealthy New York couple (Timothy Hutton and Dana Delany) after their 15-year-old son (Will Denton) is abducted. The FBI is involved too, led by Latimer King (Delroy Lindo), a former colleague of Knapp's on the verge of retirement.

It wasn't a bad show, but I completely understood why it was cancelled.

When was it on? Was it up against other great shows?

Wednesday at 9PM EST. I saw the first couple of episodes, but got disinterested when the buzz was around that the show was getting axed. It was a pretty good show.

There's nothing worse than getting into a show only to know it's going to be axed. The most recent example of this would be Black Donnelley's also on NBC. They seem to pull the trigger quick on these shows.

NBC's ratings absolutely suck right now, they can't afford to have much patience with these shows. NBC is releasing the rest of the Black Donnelly's on ITunes and on their website though, there is a total of 13.

I feel bad for NBC, most of the shows that they cancel or nearly cancel are good shows that deserve a chance. Unfortunately the average American would rather watch some fluff like Dancing with the Stars or any of the inane comedies on CBS. This past year has been really depressing for shows getting canceled for me.

I guess I can take some solace in the fact that they are actually releasing the rest of the shows. At least I will get to see how the season plays out. I agree with you in the fact that I do not understand that people would rather watch shows like Dancing with the Stars over these good shows. But what are you gonna do?
