I am watching the dvd collection and there is a scene where haggar the witch invades the castle she creates a tornado inside the castle and in trying 2 destroy the castle she breaks a bottle of Otard cognac, why is there a product placement of cognac on a kids show, I thought it was funny tho..

It was the 80's, it was all the rage to use cartoons to push vices on children. Such as Joe Camel and well I guess Voltron. Although I want to recall some beer in G.I. Joe on occasion as well.

Well Transformers had alcoholism too! There's a famous scene where Megatron and the other decepticons are drinking the energy out of the Energon Cubes and got hammered!

BTW Voltron was a great show, too bad the legacy was peed on with that crappy CGI show in the 90s

Good memories. In fact, I snagged the first volume (Blue Lion) at Wal-Mart a few weeks back. When I get some money up I'll buy the second volume (Yellow Lion). The third (Green Lion) comes out May 8th I think.

We talked about this last year, yes it was a great show, but I will take Battle of the Planets, or even better Gatchaman.

Speaking of thundercats, I remember thinking how cool our cartoons were growing up and how lame cartoons now a days are until I caught a old episode of thundercats on cartoon network. Man thats some of the cheesiest, ******** stuff ever. I now know cartoons were just as bad back then but we just didnt realize it.

That "I'll form the head" line is one of those phrases I played out in high school. When we were saying, "I'm riding with Gina...Brendan's going with Danny and Tina's coming at 10:30", my response would almost always be "I'll form the head!"

Nobody ever got it (except Brendan)....

Silverhawks was for all of the little closet cases...
