    I don't understand why people get so angry about what people choose to do with their bodies. Good for him for admitting it, even though there are people who are going to complain and talk about how "sick" it is.

      Yeah, I don't understand it, either. But as long as he/she/it is happy and doesn't use his position as a sports writer to champion transgender issues in the paper, I don't really care.

      I still admire the courage of this person to go public even though I don't comprehend what would cause a person to want to make this transformation.

        It must take a lot of courage to come out like this.
        I imagine if the readers didn't know about this, they would wonder what happened to Mike Penner.

        When I first saw the name Christina Kahrl at BP, I thought it was maybe Chris Kahrl's sister. Later I found out Chris had a sex change and became Christina.
