    Shinedown

Ok, I searched and was amazed that nobody had made a thread dedicated to these guys. As most know, Brent Smith, is a Vocal GOD in the Rock genre. They performed a couple new songs the other night at a benefit concert. It was only Brent and Jasin, so it's all acoustic.

    Re: Shinedown

I definitely agree, not the most amazing band to come out the last 10 years, but probably the most amazing vocalist for sure. A lot of my friends think their cover of "Simple Man" was really bad. I think they just don't like the idea of covering classic songs or something, cause it is probably one of the most awesome vocal performances I've ever heard.

I love Shinedown, seen them live twice, including once before they even had their first album out. Very good live band.

        One of my favorite bands.

They're also the only band I can ever remember to cover a U2 song and actually make it sound amazing. My mom, who is a huge U2 fan, even loved the cover and she absolutely hates things like that.

One of my favorite bands as well. Here's the cover song Longhorn is referring to.

And yes, Brent Smith is incredible.

Thanks. I was going to post the link, but realized I didn't have it saved anymore.

They also do an amazing cover of "Simple Man." I'm almost positive that the lead singer is Knoxville, so I've been following them for some time.

                Re: Shinedown

I was admittedly late to the Shinedown bandwagon, but now they're one of the bands I can just listen to without skipping over songs
