Re: SNL in the 90s
I watched it. Pretty good. I didn't realize that SNL fired so many members. I thought many left to pursue their movie careers, but according to this show, guys like Sandler, Farley, Norm McDonald and Mike Meyers got fired.
Watching that reminded how much I used to enjoy SNL. The early to mid 90's were great IMO. Those were probably my favorite years because I really enjoyed Farley, Sandler, Meyers, Carvey, Rock, Hartman and the rest of the crew at that time.Comment

Re: SNL in the 90s
It was great to see bits of the classic sketches.
Too bad Rob Schneider, Adam Sandler, and Kevin Nealon didn't appear to give their thoughs.
I was surprised Sarah Silverman was included because she left on bad terms.
I didn't learn anything new and most of the cast/writers/producers/execs were just kissing each other's asses. By watching this show, you would think Shannon, Oteri, and Gasteyer were the holy trinity of female comedians. I thought all 3 weren't funny during their time on SNL.Comment

Re: SNL in the 90s
I was surprised that Norm Macdonald went on the show seeing as how he was treated.
I was a bit disappointed that they didn't show more skits in their entirety, but besideds that it was pretty good.
I was also under the assumptions that all those people left on their own rather than being fired. Well I guess SNL showed them as almost all of them went on to become huge movie and TV stars.
That one story about the reporter that spent so much time with them only to stab them in the back in his article was very interesting.Last edited by Money99; 05-07-2007, 10:27 AM.Comment

Re: SNL in the 90s
Kinda changes that whole "jumping into the polar bears skit" from being kinda lame and too long to being rather neat and symbolic. Everytime I see that skit from now on, I'll watch it completely differently.Comment

Re: SNL in the 90s
Norm MacDonald dropped the "F" bomb during the news segment. I thought that's what led to his dismissal. But this show has made some terrible casting choices over the years. It had so many great moments, yet so much waste. Apparently they even passed on Jim Carrey way back when. Oh, and I co-sign the Oteri comments. I can't believe she didn't go on to do more.Comment
