Old Movies on DVD
I was just curious about some older movies that are finally making their way to DVD; namely Robin Hood (Errol Flynn) and The Mark of Zorro. Does anybody have them on DVD? If so, some impressions would be real cool.

Re: Old Movies on DVD
I have the Errol Flynn Robin Hood on DVD and they did an amazing job with the image restoration. Same with the older animated Disney movies - they spend so much time and money cleaning up the images that they look like new movies.
Definitely read reviews before you buy though, as they've re-released plenty of old movies on DVD with little to no additional work on the image to bring them onto the new format. But for those they have touched up, they really do look great and are worth the upgrade.Helen: Everyone's special, Dash.

I've been thinking of picking up that two disc Robin Hood DVD ever since Pirates of the Carribean came out. I think the oldest cartoon movie I have is Peter Pan, but I definitely agree. I had that on VHS when I was a kid and watching it on DVD is like watching a completely different movie.
I'll look into the reviews of The Mark of Zorro, but the cover of the 2005 release definitely caught my eye.
I've also been waiting on any news for the 1934 production of The Count of Monte Cristo to be released on DVD (the same one that was in V for Vendetta), but apparently its not available yet. However, go here and click "vote" to get this movie out on DVD. I really want to check it out.

Bump.
Has anybody ever watched The Man Who Laughs? With all this Joker hype starting to build for the next Batman film, I want to check out the character that started it all.

Re: Old Movies on DVD
That started off the Joker? hmm ok....
BTW I mostly watch my old movies via TCM. Let's see the last old movie I watched today was a recording of a 1932 Edward G. Robinson movie called Tiger Shark. It was ok, the plot would be used again and again over the years but Robinson was fantastic in it.
I have so many movies on my PVR from TCM that it's crazy. Next movie for me to watch is Mighty Joe Young from 1949.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club
