    Rush: Snakes and Arrows

Of course, I'm biased, since I've been a Rush fan since 2112. However, I've been critical of albums if I didn't like it. I thought Signals was too synthesizer driven and I didn't like the last studio effort Vapor Trails.

This disc is very good, in my opinion. I've found out with Rush, there is no black and white, either you like them or hate them.

The producer for this CD was Nick Raskulinecz , a Rush fan, and producer of Velvet Revolver and Foo Fighters. I think he really brought back some old sounding Rush and combined it with today's music.

There is not one synthesizer in the liner notes noted. Mandolin, a lot of acoustic
guitars and electric guitars. There are three instrumentals that are all good, a few of them clock around the two minute mark. They even have a bluesy riff in one of the songs.

Not a bad outing from the underrated not in the HOF yet 50 somethings Rush.

Glad to hear the album is good, I'll probably check it out. And don't worry about the Hall of Fame, it's bull****.

I've been a Rush fan since I heard Bastille Day in the late 70's. I love the new album and can't wait to see them in Charlotte in June.

Yeah the HOF is crap. Talent doesn't equal sales as shown by the music industry today, it's all about how many hooks you can pull off in an album.

Thanks for the heads up everyone. I'm a huge Rush fan and basically followed them since the Fly by night album(when it came out even!) They lost me in the last few years to say the least. I gave up after Presto. That was bad. Then I bought Vapor trails and Test for echo<<<< I might have to check this one out, I'd love to hear some fresh Rush.

I can't really recommend Different Stages enough. It's a 3 disc set that's just fantastic. I've had it on my IPOD for the last two or three weeks and no matter what else is on it, I always go back to it.

Live stuff, if memory serves me right, it was the T4E tour. 2 live disc going back to Farewell to Kings.

For the fans, they threw in a 3rd disc of a part of live concern back in the late 70's with 2112 and Working Man.

Working Man is so hard to find because they rarely do it in concert that much anymore.

Picked up S&A.....amazing..........They should have released something like this 10 years ago. It kinda reminds me of test for echo(the way it should have been done) A little flavoring of hemispheres, and then throw a heaping of Caress of steel on top for the perfect recipe for a good CD. This is good stuff for the longtime fan add on edit: I know I said "test" wasn't that good earlier. It could have been, they just needed that extra push and drive, they found it.

I liked Counterparts, mixed on Presto, T4E was ok, I didn't like Signals as well as others, so, I think this is their best effort since Moving Pictures.

Love the no keyboards and just guitars and drums.
