I was just wondering if there were any screenwriters, sold or aspiring, on the message board. It is a hobby of mine that i'm just now getting seriously into.

I have done some horror screenplays. an original friday the 13th movie was my best. Unfortunatly they were all on my old computer when it crashed and i lost it all and havent wrote since

Im actually writing one right now, its a slow process, i know what i want and how i want it to come together its just a matter of me typing it all up in a manner that would be readableComment

I'm in film school right now so I've written a few. I'm working on a short film for my thesis. I once tried screenwriting when I was in High School. Man it's hard work! I think i'm better suited to the short story format. In fact, I did one short story for a contest that was pretty well recieved. I should try to get back into it as the character I created was pretty cool.

I tried , I suck, and it is hard. I even talked to some professionals when i was out west working and they all told me the same thing that my ideas were great but my character development sucked and the development of the story line does not run smoothly.
One guy told me it might be best if i just came up with the concept, the beginning, the ideal ending, and let some one who knows how to write, do the screenplay for me.
Who ever goes through the process and completes a screen play has all my respectComment

Yeah I will definitely agree it is hard. I finished my first "good one" last quarter, and I've gotten some interest in the last few days I will follow up on.
I don;t expect it to be made soon because it is a comedy about table tennis and i discovered a week ago that there is one of those coming out at the end of this year.
But I'm currently working on number two.
It's a tough gig...I can see how so many writers have depression =)
But it is kept fun because it gives me and my brother something to do together. He generally comes up with the main concept and I run with it from there because I'm the writer in the family.Comment
