    Smokey Bones closing

We were just talking about this in another thread. They are closing half of their restaurants, the other half were sold off from Darden (Olive Garden, Bahama Breeze, Red Lobster).

Sad sad day, but the one up the street from me is staying open

Well, the one I used to go to when I lived in Wilmington is closing. One less thing to look forward to next time I'm in town.

It looks like the one by my house is staying open. I'd be surprised if they closed that one as it's always busy.

Is there a press release that states why they're selling off 1/2 their restaurants and closing another 1/2? I couldn't find one and from what I've seen, most of them are jam packed. You'd think business was good and they were raking in the $$$.

        Here's the press release.

Here's an article that kind of explains the closings:

The one that I go to is staying open. It'd be ironic if it closed because it used to be a Red Lobster.

I wonder who bought the other restarurants, I can't find anything listing it. Ours is always slammed too, so I'm not shocked it's staying open. Doesn't hurt that Red Lobster is across the street, Olive Garden is up the road, and Bahama Breeze is about a 10 minute drive away.

They closed the 2 locations by me about 2 years ago. That was a good place to get BBQ.

The one in my town has already closed. I noticed it the other day and was surprised.

EDIT: No wonder, there aren't any in California.

Exactly, for all the hype it got here on OS, apparently it was not that good of a restaurant. Not good enough to generate repeat / returning customers as the article stated.

Since you're in MA, where do you go?

This is bad news. That was the only place I could go to watch out of town NFL games AND get the sound. Ugh.

Anybody in the Chicago western 'burbs have any ideas?
