I'm going to have to say myself as well. :y4:

Thanks diesel... gave me a good laugh. The only thing that would hurt me, is that I don't wear spandex... and as we all know, all good superheroes, wear tightly fitting suits.

Still trying to figure out how he pulled that one off, considering pebble sized Green K flattens him.
Which reminds me of a Superhero joke:
What were Batman and Robin called after they were ran over by a Mac Truck?
      Answer-Flatman and Ribbon.

Yeah, but that was in the movie. In real life we all know that Superman could never lift an entire land mass of Kryptonite...How many times have we seen just a tiny amount of K render superman completely helpless? All the time. That was the fake part of the movie, it was so unrealistic.

Everything about Super Heroes is unrealistic. That's why we love them.

Gotcha! I was being funny. Consistentcy is the word to be used, when one is attempting to analyze that which isn't real, in a real sort of way. If we are to be consistent, superman should have never been able to lift that K land mass. It is sort of like the flash all of a sudden being able to fly in a movie in order to save his life. The flash can't fly, and superman can't lift K.

Re: who would win in a superhero battle?

Okay, the whole unrealistic angle for Superman doesn't work because technically, everything he does is unrealistic. With that said, Green K and it's effects on Superman always vary whether its in the comics, movies, or television. It usually depends on the story they want to tell but the only sure thing about it is that it weakens him -- how much it weakens him is the question.

As for who would win, I'll go with Superman. Yes, you can make a case for Silver Surfer being more powerful or how all these other heroes just need to bring kryptonite with them but as was stated, he can make a suit which negates the effects of kryptonite or he can simply use his flight, speed, and other powers to keep his distance and use heat-vision to attack or somehow get the kryptonite off his enemies. And remember, this guy holds himself back most of the time since he could pretty-much end a fight with one punch or flick if he didn't keep his power in check. Lastly, the guy never gives up so if he's going down, there's no way he'd let a fight end without the other guy getting hurt.

                Okay, enough geekyness from me.

Superman barely beat the hulk in the Marvel vs. DC books.

Spider-Man whooped Superboy's *** and Silver Surfer smashed Green Lantern (in the weakest fight in the series).

Well, there is absolutely no way the Silver Surfer loses a battle to Superman. Superman is powered by the yellow sun of this galaxy, which means outside of the milky way he is a normal everyday being. The SS is fused with the power cosmic by an ancient god (Galactus), which means in any galaxy he is super powered and is one of the baddest cats on the block. The SS totally beats down Superman in this galaxy and any other, especially in Superman's galaxy where Superman would be quite normal.

Re: who would win in a superhero battle?

As long as the sun is yellow, Superman will have his powers. Even if there is no sun, he still has his powers except he won't be able to recharge until he's near a yellow sun again.

Silver Surfer & Hulk, well, that's the thing, two different universes with totally different power structures (Marvel's vs DC's). People complained in the past that Superman became too powerful so they tweaked him a bit and made him weaker. I don't remember Marvel doing such a thing to either Silver Surfer or The Hulk. Now if we're talking Silver Age Superman (the most powerful version of Superman) against those two, I'd say Superman has a chance. There's even a version of him where he practically became a god living in the sun and had a GL ring.

In any case, its going to be a matter of opinion unless a set of rules and power structure is set for them to 'battle' in.

I guess I'll go with Mr Majestic. He's just as powerful as Superman, but doesn't rely on any power source, isn't vulnerable to Kryptonite, and doesn't have a strict moral code to live by like Superman. He's a straight Kheran warlord and a genius as well.

But he doesn't hold any magical powers, and I guess you could always make a case for any hero with magic at their disposal could win a fight no matter how strong their opponent is.

Well lets do this then people, lets setup rules and guidlines, and some type of order of matchups we will go in with, plus we need a draft of some type. We can have people that at the minimun are semi knowledgeable in the comic book genre.

I stated it earlier (btw I guess we make our cases, and name famous wins against great superheroes for our argument, plus their powers, and weaknesses) I am taking my main man.....Gladiator. If we do decide to do this Superhero showdown!

                          Gladiator!

                          Real Name: Kallark
Occupation: Praetor (leader) of the elite corps of the Shi’ar Imperial Guard.
Identity: Publicly known to the citizens of the Shi’ar Empire.
Legal Status: Citizen of the Shi’ar Empire
                          Other Aliases: None
Place of Birth: Unrevealed planet in the Shi’ar Galaxy.
                          Marital Status: Unrevealed
                          Known Relatives: None
Base of Operations: Shi’ar Imperial Throneworld, Shi’ar Galaxy
                          Group Affiliation: Shi’ar Imperial Guard
                          First Appearance: X-MEN #107

History: Nothing has yet been revealed about the origin of Gladiator

                          Height: 6 ft. 6 in.
                          Weight: 595 lbs.
                          Eyes: Blue
                          Hair: Dark Blue

Strength Level: Gladiator possesses Class 100 strength, enabling him to lift (press) over 100 tons. The uppermost limit of Gladiator’s strength is unknown. He has proved capable of uprooting the entire 35 floor original Baxter Building, and has boasted to be able to move planets. Possibly Gladiator employs technical means to boost his strength enough to lift (press) beyond what others in the Class 100 strength category can lift.

If you are a Marvel guy, you can look up ANYONE in their universe here...

Has anyone here read Marvel vs DC? It came out a few years ago, it was pretty interesting but they alternated who would win so you would have spiderman winning, then superman etc. I still have my copy although it's really messed up now.

I used to collect comics so I have all my old one's like that but this one I just had laying around. I don't even know what happened to my comics, they were at my dad's house in New Orleans so I guess they got ruined.
