Ugh, sad to hear, I kept all my collection (have many still values in the hundreds and thousands) in pristine condition due to my diligence in keeping everything I owned in Mylars with proper backings.

My comic set could probably propell my son Kev through college.

I mentioned it like 4 posts up when I said Spider-Man whooped Superboy and Superman just barely beat the Hulk.

I dont have any spidey or supes number 1's (which for his to be so high he must have) but I got some greats, spidey 4 through 28, action comics early comics, giant sized X men (intro to Wolvie and others, including intro and death of Warpath), plus early Bearnie Wrightson 18 to 20 cent covers on man thing, got lots of early Frank Miller, early John Burne, early of many artist, including most of the greats.

My collection must easily be in the 75,000 range to at most 128,000 area, god bless me keeping all my comics and my football / baseball cards, hehe. I have rookies of so many Baseball players it is not funny, I have them in screwed in covered plastic cases as well.

I always wanted to get back into the comic/ sportscard hobby, but I was so young starting out and by the time I got to high school, I fell out of love with comics because my favorite penciler, Jim Lee, and the rest of the crew went over to Image Comics. And around that time, sportscards became a big deal in terms of media and money, it eventually priced me out. A damn pack of cards was almost 10 bucks.

Anyways, my uncle is the comic collector of my family. I hope he still has them, because he has some major classics. Mine is up in my closet and most of them are in mylar sleeves. Thank goodness for those things.

Like I said, my collection alone on my comics plus my BB cards will get my boy (or Daughter) through college, my son is on track to get a full ride, so I'm in good shape. Daughter as well (it is early) but I am guessing this may just become money for them (I'm so glad I saved it all).

IMO you missed some cool stuff with Lee over at Image. Wildcats and that line of heroes (Stormwatch, Gen 13, Deathblow, etc) are very cool. Nowadays Lee is so overworked, I kinda wish he wasn't on so many books because they are all delayed.

I collected Wildcats, first issue and everything. After a while, I just lost interest. I tried getting into Image. Got the first few issues of Spawn. Collected Witchblade...Savage Dragon (Eric Larsen was my first fave). But then I just stopped comics altogether.

I was seriously into X-Men. But the X-Cutioner's Song got on my damn nerves. Meanwhile, I was trying to stay up on Uncanny with the whole Bishop deal, but even that made me mad. So much so, that I went back to the Dark Phoenix Saga and the X-Tinction Agenda.

P.S. Loved the Dark Phoenix Saga's cover art...

My dad and my uncle used to collect every Marvel comic when they were kids and they kept it in a suitcase at my grandma's house but she threw it in the trash when they went to college. I think their collection would've been worth a few hundred thousand or more with all the rare stuff they had.

If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)

I think the rarest comic I own is the where Wolverine and Sabretooth fight in the mansion at the end of it Wolvie pops a claw into Sabre's brain. That comic is so epic.

I vividly remember having the first Doc Octopus issue of Spiderman, but I'm sure I bought ever issue untill 1972.

LOL, nah. But my sister is trying to get him to sell it. I told him if he does, I'll kill him. I know for sure he has Spidey #1, I dunno about Superman but I think so. He got the collection from his dad. Also has a valuable playboy collection as well (every issue I think). I know he has Daredevil #1 because DD is my favorite superhero. He gave me Wolverine #1 for free just because he has 8 copies of it, lol.

Re: who would win in a superhero battle?

As an excellent Super hero, i would put Batman very high, probably olny beaten by Superman. Batman has no real powers, yet he kicks ***. From Batman Begins we learn he was a Ninja, which is even more Kickass. C-mon he has the fighting moves now, he has the gadgets and hes flithy rich.

But on a personal note, no one can beat Superman. I mean without Kryptonite. The dude us unstoppable which clearly makes him the #1 Super hero of all time like it or not.

However there are tons and tons and tons of Superheroes. We have universes filled with them. It would of been better to give us a more a set Universe; Marvel, D.C., DBZ

Everyones talking about Comics, Last year i got into read the X-men series. I read some Uncanny, and a whole bunch of other ones. Pretty cool stuff
