But posting this there would get lost. Here are my impressions and questions:
First and foremost, good movie. I meam great use of visuals and colors. Sadly i took a Humanities class, where we studied the arts. Flim, Music, Paintings/Drawings etc. And sadly most of the stuff we learned stuck with me. Yet i found most of the elements that related to art very forward in this movie.
I might go a little off and jumpy since these are some raw impressions, literally just finished watching the movie.
However with being a movie watcher, i was completely lost during some of the movie. I know some movies are meant to leave you thinking, to leave you without a set conclusion. But this one was quite confusing. Out of the three intertwided stories the one where he was bald was quite difficult to understand. I mean some parts made since, yet most of it i was completely lost
Spoilers:
i mean he was immortal right? (as the bald guy) and he and the tree of life were heading towards the star. Yet he kept having these images that brought us to the other side of the story. I'm confused a bit here. Was it the same Tommy? who some how went looking for the tree, got it and became immortal?
The Mayan one made sense until the very end where he turned into flowers. But at least it was somehow explained. But the one where he was bald, again really stomped me. I mean at the end he understood that being immortal wasnt what it was cracked up to be. It seemed like he excepting death, but it was never really made clear.
And was there a little Butterfly effect going on? I mean at the end of the movie, he changed the outcome where he went to operate on the monkey instead of chasing after his wife.
Well there goes my ranting, anyone here in a Bachelors in art willing to explain to me a bit wtf bubbly/bald Tommy was doing?
End Spoilers
Tommorrow i'm watching the Prestige, i hope its as good as it looks
