What exactly do you do for these Work at Home places?

I always see ads with ultra cheesey website names (6getthemoney.com) and whereas I have no desire to actually pursue this curiosity has got the best of me. What the hell do you do for these companies that even begin to allows you to make $10k+ a month?

I'm curious too. I'm actually thinking of trying for one of those sites workathome.com if it's not a scam.

I always thought they telemarket, but instead of clocking in at a call center, they used an automatic dialer/phone system at home.

How in the hell you'll make 10K a month doing that is beyond me.

A girl I knew in high school said her work-at-home gig was simply, "stuffing envelopes".

I always thought it was buying real estate and then flipping it for a profit?

For the sake of many I would sure as hell hope that isn't the job.

Before you sign up and give them your CC information... slap yourself.

99% of these online places are scam.

The rest you'll make some side change but spend hours doing it.

If it was really that good we all would be at home "working."

It's trouble. They change their website very frequently.

At one point it was www.8mycareer.com

              lol...when I saw that, I just laughed.

Re: What exactly do you do for these Work at Home places?

O.k-About 7 years ago I hurt my back(home all day) and my wife talked me into going with one of these things. It was a thing where you contact people to let them know that they have unclaimed money owed to them by the government. What I was suppose to do,was go to a website link they provided me,look up names, send the person a letter stating that you found money for them and for a percentage you'll help them recover it. Sounds simple? not quite. You have to get them sign a release and THEN they pay to get it notorized-send it to you-a complete stranger. Then you complete the details. Smell a fish yet?
This little venture cost me $120(non-refundable) and they take it right out of your bank using your routing number. No checks or anything. I should have known better. I guess you could make something doing this but what kind of a person is going to send a notorized release form to some fool they never heard of? I sent out about 50 of these things and gave it up. No response,I even gave my phone number in case they had questions. The place I bought this info from had "counselors" to help if you needed them(a selling point of theirs) Big joke. Either you got put on hold(not a toll free number-long distance) or they just said you need to read the "selling tactics" manual. This whole project really sucked from the neck down. Oh-the add that stung me said something like"make a full time living at home using the internet as little as an hour a day"
The whole deal here is-if something sounds too good to be true-it probably is. And-if this was legit-don't you think EVERYONE and his dog would be doing this instead of busting rocks all day? If one person reading this learns from my mistake,It was worth typing this out for the last half an hour. Maybe there is a way to do this, but I learned my lesson and don't feel like playing this game. I also think I'm lucky for giving my bank routing number and not losing everything in my bank account-man that was stupid!

They have like 5 or 6 different websites with those types of names out at the same time. Sometimes if I'm up late and watching tv they have the same commercial back to back with just a different website name.

If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)

I had a home-based staff of about 200 till 2.5 years ago when we outsourced the work to Mexico. It was legit and, to my knowledge, one of the few that was.
