Help Me Build A Classic Rock Playlist

I'm trying to broaden my musical tastes this summer, especially towards more historic artists since I haven't ever really listened to much of any of them (with the lone exception being Led Zeppelin).

In general I'm looking for stuff in the same vain as "Smoke On The Water" by Deep Purple, "Trampled Under Foot" by Led Zeppelin; basically good rock tunes that get one's toes tapping. Anything that'd fall under the 'classic rock' label will work, though.

    Any suggestions?

Brandon's list is ok, it just needs a little more depth. Just about all of those songs are popular top 10 hits (nothing wrong with that).

You can also check out CCR, early Springsteen, Dylan, The Who, Bob Seger and The Doors.

Right now, I'm really getting into Van Morrison.
Being kind, one to another, never disappoints.

I'm not a huge classic rock fan, but you never have enough Seger or any pre-Nebraska Springsteen material for a classic playlist.

I could've listed every classic rock song on my Ipod, but listing 2,000 songs would've taken awhile.

I'm sure if you've listened to the radio in the past 10-15 years, you've probably heard a good deal of the songs already listed, but I'll throw out some of my favorite "classic rock" (bastard term) songs as well.

Allman Brothers Band - Trouble No More (and everything else off of the At Fillmore East: Deluxe Edition album)
Big Brother & the Holding Company - I Need A Man to Love
Cream - Tale of Brave Ulysses
