it's gotta be a good movie because Cusack is in it. That dude made "the Ice Harvest" an entertaining movie.

Not really bates. Identity was great BTW.

I thought 1408 was great. Messes with your head. And..as if this needed to be said...John Cusack rules all.

Just got back from seeing it. John Cusack does indeed rule all. It just goes to show you that it is possible to do a movie with nothing but one character and many monologues. Really does mess with your head, especially some of those sounds. Great movie, but it was one of those "better first half" movies. I think because, in the end, there was build up for things that I thought would have unfolded a little more as the movie went on, but perhaps I just didn't catch onto them.

                    Dear old Nebraska U.
Where the girls are the fairest,
                    The boys are the squarest,
Of any old school that I knew.

                    Where they're all true blue.
                    We'll all stick together,
                    In all kinds of weather,
                    For Dear old Nebraska U!

Saw it last night and I really didn't it was very good. I was expecting something a little more scary.

I thought it was great. I don't think it's a movie that will scare you much in theaters, but watching it at home with the lights out, alone would be a far creepier experience.

There are moments in the film that will make you jump, but not too many of those. What I really liked about this movie was it was more psychological horror.

Ditto. I thought there was so much going inside the head of John Cusack's character, that I couldn't really figure out what was going on and why. Definitely a movie I want to see again.

I agree that the first half was far better than the end. I think Cusack was great, and I find it funny that Tom Hanks was praised for what he did in Castaway, but we're not hearing much of what Cusack does here.

                            **Somewhat of a Spoiler**

The film had a very real feel to it until toward the end where Cusack's character appeared to be unmoved and then things almost seemed overthetop. I wasn't to happy with the ending. I thought it was dull and not in-tune with the rest of the movie.

I have no idea how the movie ended, LOL. I fell asleep right at the end, or it seemed near the end. The last thing I remember was...

                              Spoilers

him talking to his little girl in 1408. Then I woke up at the end when he and his wife were listening to the tape recording. Maybe I saw something after that but I was really fading at that point.

                              End spoilers

Actually I have no idea how much I missed. I thought the first part of the movie was really good. I'm not sure if I fell asleep because I was getting bored or because it had been a long weekend.
