Should i get XM or Sirius this weekend?...

i've been looking to get one for a while. now i just have to decide which one. XM has more Hip hop stations and the Opie & Anthony show (i've heard they're hilarious), but Sirius has the NFL stations. help me decide...

O&A are currently suspended. I've had XM for 6 months and still love it, love the music, but more than anything I love the sports. I need my baseball, and XM has every game. It was an easy choice for me.

yeah, i've heard. but rumor has it, the govorment may not allow it because it would be too much of a monopoly (50-50 chance)...

I went with Sirius and I love it!. I love the NFL and Howard Stern, plus talk radio is more important then the music channels. So for me, after looking at everything, it was a no brainer.

I just got rid of my XM (I'll resubscribe for the bbboys when they come back) It all comes down to preferences. For me, soccer and Stern take precedence over baseball and O&A, but that's just me. I enjoy both services but have listened to my sirius far more than my XM.

have both, but only Sirius is active atm (cancelled XM also due to the O & A suspension).. I like getting all my sports, so it really was worth it to me to get both. Now taking a wait & see approach about returning to XM..



ps- anyone see the Sirius commerical that takes a little "dig" at XM??
where the little dog comes out, they mention having Howard Stern, & the dog takes the word "censored" & chews it up.. thought that was hilarious..

Well if you're looking mainly at music, can't go wrong with either.


Sirius has several Hip-Hop stations: Hip-Hop Nation(plays the newest hip-hop music plus has DJ's once a day where you can hear some really good remixes), Shade 45(Eminem's hip-hop station), Hot Jamz(plays new R&B and new hip-hop), Backspin(plays 80s and 90s rap, best place to find some Bone Thugs or Dre).

Love my xm, though i suspended 1 of 2 accounts with the o&a suspension.

When they return i will resub.

My wife on the other hand, cant get enough of her sirius. So much so that she insisted on having sirius on the xm-ready lexus we got her.

I on the other hand, did the exact opposite with the vw gti i got. Came with sirius, tried it out, and didnt like it. Never been a huge stern fan, and though i have listened before, just didnt do it for me. so i went out and bought an aftermarket stereo that was xm ready.


Baseball and the virus channel(o&a and ron & fez), along with fred,ethel, and lucy, and i am set.

Their hip hop stations are not that good, except the Backspin.

They need an underground hip hop station.

I just now realized that I've never listened to music on either XM or Sirius short of the Met Opera Channel on Sirius. It's been all talk and all sports for me for over a year.

hey Dave, just got an email from XM saying that for those who cancelled, they will waive the activation fee if you sign up before June 30th (have to call the 1-800 #)..

If you like baseball more than the NFL, go XM.
If vice versa, go Sirius.

You'll find enough hip-hop or comedy shows regardless of which one you choose. The big difference is those two sports.

Thanks man. I got it as well. I'm resubscribing today to get the best of CBS shows till Friday.
