How would I record the games I play?

Video games....how would I go about recording the games I play and getting them to my computer and making a "highlight film?" I've seen others do this. I'm sure there are lots of ways. I remember using a VCR to record my N64 way back when.

Is it possible to use like a DVR player to record my TV playing in Input 3 (or video x, or whatever its called)? Then how to get that file to my computer is another question...

how do you guys do this? any suggestions on easy and affordable ways to start out?

    One of these:

The purple cord with the small box at the end will allow porting in of RCA or S-Video out from your source. Plus the TV Wonder will allow you to split your cable TV coax to this card so you can seperately tune in your cable channels and watch them on your monitor. The All-In-Wonder is a cpu video card as well. The TV Wonder is not a video card.

Check over at cheapassgamer.com. Someone posted a really cheap (15-20 bucks I think) way to record your gaming. I can't recall the name of the product, but it seemed to be really popular and decent from the impressions.
